نئی دہلی : بھارت نے امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ کی جانب سے برآمدی باسمتی چاول کی ڈمپنگ کے الزامات کو بے بنیاد قرار دیتے ہوئے مسترد کردیا۔
غیر ملکی میڈیا رپورٹ کے مطابق اس حوالے سے بھارتی حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ امریکہ کو برآمد کیا جانے والا چاول اعلیٰ معیار کا باسمتی ہوتا ہے جو عام غیر باسمتی چاول کے مقابلے میں زیادہ قیمت پر فروخت ہوتا ہے، ایسے میں ڈمپنگ کا کوئی جواز بنتا ہی نہیں۔
واضح رہے کہ امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے گزشتہ ہفتے بھارت پر الزام عائد کیا تھا کہ وہ امریکی مارکیٹ میں سستے داموں چاول بھیج رہا ہے، جس پر مزید درآمدی محصولات عائد کیے جاسکتے ہیں۔
بھارتی تجارتی سیکریٹری راجیش اگروال نے پیر کے روز ایک نیوز کانفرنس میں کہا تھا کہ بادی النظر میں ڈمپنگ کا کوئی کیس سامنے نہیں آتا، اور ان کے علم کے مطابق امریکہ نے تاحال بھارت کے خلاف کوئی اینٹی ڈمپنگ تحقیقات بھی شروع نہیں کیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت سے امریکہ جانے والی چاول کی برآمدات میں زیادہ تر حصہ پریمیم کوالٹی باسمتی چاول کا ہوتا ہے، جو عالمی منڈی میں اپنی خوشبو اور معیار کے باعث زیادہ قیمت حاصل کرتا ہے۔
اعداد و شمار کے مطابق بھارت جو دنیا کا سب سے بڑا چاول برآمد کرنے والا ملک ہے، نے مالی سال 2024-25میں مجموعی طور پر 20.2 ملین میٹرک ٹن چاول برآمد کیا۔
اس میں سے 3 لاکھ 35 ہزار 554ٹن چاول امریکہ بھیجا گیا، جن میں 2 لاکھ 74 ہزار 213 ٹن باسمتی چاول شامل تھا۔
واضح رہے کہ اگست میں صدر ٹرمپ نے بھارت سے درآمدات پر محصولات کو دگنا کرتے ہوئے 50 فیصد تک بڑھا دیا تھا، جس سے ٹیکسٹائل، کیمیکلز اور جھینگے سمیت متعدد غذائی اشیا کی برآمدات متاثر ہوئی تھیں۔
بھارتی حکام کے مطابق گزشتہ ہفتے تجارتی سیکریٹری راجیش اگروال کی قیادت میں ایک وفد نے نئی دہلی میں امریکی نائب تجارتی نمائندے رک سوئٹزر سے ملاقات کی، جس میں دوطرفہ تجارت اور مجوزہ تجارتی معاہدے پر تبادلۂ خیال کیا گیا تھا۔
