لندن : صرف ایک آئی فون نے برطانوی تاریخ کی سب سے بڑی چوری شدہ موبائل فون کی اسمگلنگ کا پردہ فاش کردیا، پولیس نے جرائم پیشہ گروہ کےکارندوں کو گرفتار کرلیا۔،
برطانوی نشریاتی ادارے بی بی سی کی رپورٹ کے مطابق اس گروہ نے گزشتہ ایک سال کے دوران برطانیہ سے چین تک لاکھوں پاؤنڈ مالیت کے 40 ہزار اسمارٹ فونز اسمگل کیے۔
میٹروپولیٹن پولیس کے مطابق یہ اب تک کی سب سے بڑی کارروائی ہے جو فون چوری کے خلاف کی گئی جس میں 18 مشتبہ افراد کو گرفتار کر لیا گیا جبکہ دو ہزار سے زائد چوری شدہ فونز برآمد ہوئے، جن میں زیادہ تر جدید ترین آئی فونز بھی شامل تھے۔
حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ گروہ چین کو بڑے پیمانے پر فون اسمگل کر رہا تھا، جہاں صرف ایک جدید ترین آئی فون کی قیمت تین ہزار 700 یورو تک ہو سکتی ہے۔
پولیس کا اندازہ ہے کہ یہ گروہ لندن سے چوری ہونے والے کم از کم آدھے موبائل فونز کو اسمگل کرنے کا ذمہ دار ہے۔
یہ کارروائی اس وقت شروع ہوئی جب کرسمس ایو پر ایک شہری نے اپنا چوری شدہ آئی فون الیکٹرانک طریقے پر ٹریس کرنے کی کوشش کی جس کے نتیجے میں فون کا سگنل ہیتھرو ایئرپورٹ کے قریب ایک گودام سے ملا۔
پولیس حکام کے مطابق سیکیورٹی کے عملے نے جب اس فون سگنل کی جانچ پڑتال کی گئی تو وہ ایک باکس میں 894 دیگر فونز کے ساتھ رکھا ہوا تھا، وہ تمام فونز چوری شدہ نکلے اور اُس وقت انہیں ہانگ کانگ بھیجا جا رہا تھا۔
پولیس نے فوری کارروائی کرتے ہوئے دو ملزمان کو ڈرامائی انداز میں سڑک پر ناکہ لگا کر گرفتار کیا۔ ان کی گاڑی سے درجنوں فونز ملے جو ایلومینیم فوائل میں لپٹے ہوئے تھے تاکہ ان کے سگنلز بلاک ہو سکیں۔ گرفتار ملزمان میں ایک کا تعلق افغانستان جبکہ دوسرے کا بھارت سے بتایا جارہا ہے۔
مزید کارروائیوں میں دیگر 15 مشتبہ افراد گرفتار کیے گئے، جن میں سے زیادہ تر خواتین شامل ہیں، جس میں ایک عورت بلغاریہ کی شہری ہے۔ پولیس نے ملزمان کی نشاندہی پر چھاپوں کے دوران 30 مزید ڈیوائسز ضبط کیں۔
واضھ رہے کہ لندن میں موبائل فون چوری کے واقعات میں گزشتہ چار سال کے دوران تین گنا اضافہ ہوا ہے۔
سال 2020 میں موبائل چوری کی تعداد 28 ہزار 609 سے بڑھ کر 2024 میں 80 ہزار 588 تک پہنچ گئی ہے۔ لندن اب پورے برطانیہ میں موبائل فون چوری کے 75 فیصد واقعات کا مرکز بن چکا ہے۔
