مائیکرو سافٹ نے دنیا بھر میں کروڑوں صارفین کو خبردار کیا ہے کہ اگر وہ جلد از جلد اپنے سسٹمز کو اپ ڈیٹ نہیں کرتے تو وہ سائبر حملوں کا شکار ہوسکتے ہیں۔
میڈیا رپورٹ کے مطابق مائیکرو سافٹ نے باضابطہ طور پر تصدیق کی ہے کہ 14 اکتوبر 2025بروز منگل کو ونڈوز 10 آپریٹنگ سسٹم کے لیے سپورٹ مکمل طور پر ختم کردی جائے گی۔ جس کے بعد اسے آن لائن خطرات سے بچاؤ کے لیے کوئی سیکیورٹی اپ ڈیٹس نہیں ملیں گی۔
اس حوالے سے مائیکرو سافٹ کے ایگزیکٹو یوسف مہدی نے بتایا ہے کہ مائیکرو سافٹ اب ونڈوز 10 پی سیز کے لیے سیکیورٹی اور فیچر اپ ڈیٹس یا تکنیکی مدد فراہم نہیں کرے گا۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اگرچہ یہ ڈیوائسز کام کرتی رہیں گی لیکن اب انہیں باقاعدہ سیکیورٹی اپ ڈیٹس نہیں ملیں گی، جس سے وہ میلویئر اور وائرس جیسے سائبر خطرات کے لیے زیادہ حساس ہو جائیں گی۔
یوسف مہدی کے مطابق ونڈوز 11 پر اپ گریڈ کرنا سافٹ ویئر کے قدرتی ارتقا کا حصہ ہے تاکہ نئی خصوصیات اور اختراعات شامل کی جا سکیں۔ چونکہ ونڈوز 10 پر اب فیچر اپ ڈیٹس نہیں آئیں گی، اس لیے کچھ ایپلی کیشنز کا کام متاثر ہو سکتا ہے یا وہ چلنا بند کر سکتی ہیں۔
اعداد و شمار کے مطابق دنیا بھر میں 40 فیصد سے زائد ونڈوز صارفین اب بھی پرانا ونڈوز 10 استعمال کر رہے ہیں۔ مائیکروسافٹ نے صارفین کو مشورہ دیا ہے کہ وہ بروقت اقدامات کریں تاکہ ان کے سسٹمز محفوظ رہ سکیں۔ اگر آپ کا کمپیوٹر ونڈوز 11 کے لیے اہل ہے تو اسے براہِ راست اپ گریڈ کیا جاسکتا ہے۔
رپورٹ کے مطابق برطانیہ میں صارفین کے حقوق کے لیے کام کرنے والی تنظیموں کے مطابق، تقریباً 50 لاکھ کمپیوٹر صارفین اب بھی ونڈوز 10 چلارہے ہیں۔
صارفین کی تنظیم وچ کے ایک نئے سروے کے مطابق ونڈوز 10 استعمال کرنے والے تقریباً 25 فیصد افراد سپورٹ ختم ہونے کے بعد بھی یہی سسٹم استعمال کرتے رہنے کا ارادہ رکھتے ہیں جو نقصان کا باعث بن سکتا ہے۔
