پاکستان کے سابق کپتان محمد حفیظ نے کہا ہے کہ اگر سری لنکا کے خلاف ٹیم میں حسین طلعت نہ ہوتا تو پاکستان میچ ہار چکا ہوتا۔
ایک پوڈ کاسٹ میں خصوصی گفتگو کرتے ہوئے محمد حفیظ نے حسین طلعت کی تعریفوں کے پُل باندھ دیے۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ میں نے جب بھی اسے دیکھا وہ 30 سے 26 گیندوں پر نصف سنچری کرلیتا ہے، اس بار اس نے 30 پر 32 رنز کیے، اگر غور کیا جائے تو وہ 70 یا سو کے برابر ہیں، کیونکہ وہ جس کنڈیشن اور پوزیشن پر کھیل رہا تھا وہ بہت خطرناک تھی۔
ایک سوال کے جواب میں محمد حفیظ نے بتایا کہ آج اس نے موقع کی مناسبت سے بیٹنگ کی تھی، اس نے بتادیا کہ کھیلنا کسے کہتے ہیں؟ حسین طلعت نے خود کو پاکستان کا میچ ونر ثابت کردیا۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ہمارے کسی بھی بیٹر کو دیکھ لیں وہ بالر کا ہاتھ نہیں دیکھتا جب بال اس کے ہاتھ سے نکل کر لینتھ پر لگتا ہے تب ہم اسے پِک کرتے ہیں اور تب تک دیر ہوچکی ہوتی ہے۔ لیکن آپ نے دیکھا کہ حسین طلعت نے موقع کی مناسبت سے بیٹنگ کی۔
محمد حفیظ نے کہا کہ بد قسمتی سے ہمارے ہاں سلیکشن کا معیار زیادہ سے زیادہ رنز ہیں امپکیٹ نہیں، بہرحال جس مقصد کے لیے حسین طلعت کو کھلایا گیا تھا اس نے وہ مکمل کر دکھایا۔
